Speaker for 2011:

Notice of change of speaker for Women at the Well 2011

I am writing on behalf of the Women at the Well committee to give you some sad news about Sue Minns. Sue was to be our speaker for the retreat. A few weeks ago we got word from Sue's husband that she was very ill and could not be our speaker. This week Sue passed away. Her joyful obituary is at this link and you will be blessed by it. http://yourlifemoments.ca/sitepages/obituary.asp?oId=538902 I personally am so disappointed not to meet Sue in person after talking to her on the phone and by email. She really was a one-of-a-kind person. She will be sadly missed. If you were at Women at the Well 2011, you have met Lynda Marshall. Lynda taught about communion and led the Sunday service last year. Our team is very pleased to have Lynda as our speaker for 2011 and she has wonderful plans for the retreat. Please see her biography and session outlines below. God is good and He has good plans for each of us. Hope to see you in Guelph!

Maggie Edington on behalf of the W@W team.

Lynda Marshall has accepted the role of speaker for 2011.

"God loves us just as we are, but too much to leave us there.” Over the years in her own life and in her role as teacher, counsellor and social worker, Lynda has learned the reality of that statement. Brought up in the church, it wasn’t until she was in her 30s and after much searching and questioning that she came into a close and personal relationship with the Lord. Although she learned much, perhaps the greatest lesson has been that Jesus really does heal our broken hearts and set us free from the guilt, fear, anxieties etc. that keep us from being all that we can be. He really does laugh with us in the good times and grieve with us in the difficult times, all the while giving us the strength we need to grow and be all that he designed us to be. Lynda has worked as a high school teacher and counsellor and as the Director of Counselling and later as the Church and Ministry Co-ordinator at Good Shepherd Community Church in Toronto. She has been the speaker at many retreats, workshops, and conferences. She speaks with warmth and humour as she shares the understanding and insights she has learned over the years. Lynda lives most of the time in Owen Sound with many trips to Toronto! She is the proud mom of three adult children and four wonderful grandchildren.
